The plague has a history closely linked with the Mediterranean and Provence in particular. But the disease also gave rise to specific typologies and new relationships with space. Popular housing as well as that of the nobility, clergy and notables was affected.
Delving back into this history in the light of today's world is a way of extending this reflection on the role of the decorative arts as a partial response to health issues, not through the cold, aseptic approach of hospitals, but through the warmth of materials, domestic objects and space.
This piece offers a phantasmagorical space at the crossroads of medieval and contemporary references, embodying a reflection on the role of the decorative arts in relation to health issues.

La peste a une histoire étroitement liée avec la Méditerranée et en particulier la Provence. Mais cette maladie a également engendré l'apparition de typologies spécifiques ainsi que de nouveaux rapports à l'espace. L'habitat populaire ainsi que l'habitat de la noblesse, du clergé ou des notables fut affecté.
Se replonger dans cette histoire à la lueur d'aujourd'hui permet de prolonger cette réflexion d'un rôle des arts décoratifs comme une réponse partielle à des problématiques sanitaires, qui ne passe pas par la froideur aseptisée hospitalière mais par la chaleur de la matière, de l'objet domestique et de l'espace.
Cette pièce offre un espace fantasmagorique à la croisée de références médiévales et contemporaines qui incarne une réflexion autour du rôle des arts décoratifs vis à vis d'enjeux sanitaires.
